Chinese Text Initiative
This is one of the many on-line initiatives at the University of Virginia Library.
Our goal is to introduce classical Chinese literature in humanities and to make on-line texts available on the World Wide Web. Selected texts will be presented in Chinese and with English translations whenever possible, and a searchable index will be provided as well.
The texts we create or receive are marked up with SGML and become part of the on-line archive at our Electronic Text Center.
The first text, 300 Tang Poems, was officially launched on the WEB in January 1998. This Initiative is an on-going project, future texts include Shijing, Hongloumeng, Guyaoyan, Cuci.
